"The Hobbit": An Unexpected Update!

Mára aurë! Im gelir ceni ad lín!

Just a joyful shout-out to all Ringers (need I even remind you) that the long awaited and highly anticipated movie, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" will burst upon the screen here in North America in 14 days! A new trilogy is beginning!

Alas, I had to cancel my opening night plans because I am in a wedding the next day...otherwise I would be there! But I encourage you to take your family and friends (Ringer's Unite!) and go to opening night on December 14th!

For a "behind the scenes" look at the making of The Hobbit, check out Peter Jackson's nine video Production Blog series on YouTube. All the trailers, cast interviews, and now footage of the red carpet premier, are available there as well! If you have not yet seen the Production Blog, I highly encourage you to do so, it's fascinating! =)

God bless you! Namárië!

 Extra bonus! Check out how Hobbit-fever is sweeping the nation and bringing tourism to New Zealand lol. ;) This makes me want to book a trip there right now!

Psalm 19: A Praise & A Prayer...

 The Perfect Revelation of the Lord

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
2 Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.

In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
And rejoices like a strong man to run its race.
6 Its rising is from one end of heaven,
And its circuit to the other end;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat.

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who can understand his errors?
Cleanse me from secret faults.
13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins;
Let them not have dominion over me.
Then I shall be blameless,
And I shall be innocent of great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,

O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Frodo & Sam: Favorite Quote

"This Is My Father's World"

1. This is my Father's world,
 and to my listening ears
 all nature sings, and round me rings
 the music of the spheres.

 This is my Father's world:
 I rest me in the thought
 of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
 his hand the wonders wrought!

 2. This is my Father's world,
 the birds their carols raise,
 the morning light, the lily white,
 declare their maker's praise.

This is my Father's world:
 he shines in all that's fair;
 in the rustling grass I hear him pass;
 he speaks to me everywhere!

3. This is my Father's world.
 O let me ne'er forget
 that though the wrong seems oft so strong,
 God is the ruler yet.

 This is my Father's world:
 why should my heart be sad?
 The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
 God reigns; let the earth be glad!

Proverbs 30:18-19

“There are three things that are too amazing for me,
four that I do not understand:
the way of an eagle in the sky,
the way of a snake on a rock,
the way of a ship on the high seas,
and the way of a man with a young woman."

Never Forsaken-- Worship Video

"Whom Shall I Fear" by Lincoln Brewster and Keri Jobe. What a blessed assurance we have in Christ: that He "will never leave us or forsake us". Deuteronomy 31:6, a verse I'm claiming this week, says: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Oh amen.

Have a Happy Thankgiving, everyone!

Song to Abba God

I will sing unto the LORD,
My beautiful, blessed LORD,
Creator of heaven and of earth!

Who sent His Son to be born as a man,
To save us from our wretched sin:
To free the captives,
Heal the sick,
Bless little children and babes,
Feed the hungry,
Laugh,
Love,
Weep,
Be ordinary as a human, but God in all His power!
Grow up poor,
Live a sinless, blameless life;
Yet to be tried,
Die brutally,
Rise from the grave,
Defeat death, and sin, and Hell...
So we could become sons and daughters of God.

Oh yes, I will sing unto the LORD!
My beautiful, blessed LORD,
Creator of heaven and of earth!

Amen

Yesterday is History...

Have you ever looked back on a season of your life or a certain event, and wished you could change it? How would your life be different? Perhaps everybody wishes they could alter the past, even though it's impossible.

I love reading books about time travel (by Madeleine L'Engle, for instance) where the characters get to experience life in a different time. Lately I've found myself wishing I could change a lot of things in the past...things I did that I know were unwise and selfish, or words that I know were unkind and unprofitable. But, there is a saying:
"Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, but Today is a gift. That is why it is called the Present."

Although we can't change the past, we can learn from it and trust God in the present, for the future. :) The important thing is, don't miss the opportunities in front of you today to be a blessing because you're so busy looking back at your failures! Guilt won't get you anywhere but into a pit of frustration, and that's not where God wants us! Keep moving forward, trusting Him, obeying Him, and you will have joy looking to Him instead of focusing on yourself. =) Everything will come together. We may not always understand what He is doing, but the future is in His hands, and His plans for us are good.

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past..." (Isaiah 43:18)

"Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind." (Isaiah 65:17)

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)

Little Monday Update

10:00pm
Well it's already the end of the day--quite a beautiful Monday at that-- and I am tucked away from the world, pondering today's events and feeling rather spunky. ;)

This fine morning my dad needed to collect a few loads of scrap timber from a carpenter friend of ours. Of course I jumped at the chance to go with him! Working outside with my dad, especially in the woods, is so refreshing. In the craziness of life, we don't always get to talk about deep personal issues of the heart. While he does usually tell me stories about our family history, and recounts his adventures overseas (which I enjoy a lot), getting to talk seriously can be hard to come by.

So thankfully, we did get to talk, and we got plenty of wood (hence a lot of splitting logs piled up for the bitterly cold days ahead!) :)
I love the smell of the maple, oak, ceder, poplar, and so many other trees, wafting from the woodpile like a spicy, heady men's perfume...reminding me of long walks, sharp smoky cheese, and marshmallow roasts. The clearing in the woods which we collected from was quiet, nothing extraordinary. But to me, it was fit for a queen's throne room.

Here's a wee bit about my dad, Richard: He is unselfish. He is very hard-working, creative, quiet, yet passionate about many things others do not see right off. He is always finding ways to please my mom and steal kisses (which my sisters and I think is really cute) ;) Any guy who has been interested in my sisters, or in me, has had to talk to my dad...which doesn't (usually) mean a pointed shotgun...haha. Nah. Daddy just makes them chop wood. lol. ;)

But what I love about my dad most is this: he is a man seeking after God's heart. Always.
